Dr. Somer Burke is the Director of Student Success and Assessment for the USF College of Public Health and oversees the College’s Office of Experiential Learning. She has held positions in community-based research, teaching, and academic program administration during her 21-year career in higher education. Dr. Burke holds a Doctor of Education in program development with a focus on educational innovation, a Master of Public Health, and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching Women’s Health from the University of South Florida. Her bachelor's degree in health education is from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

USF Health Interprofessional Education Day 2021 (IPE Day) included professionals from eight different programs (athletic training, nursing, medicine, public health, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy, and social work). By including such a diversity of health professions, IPE Day maximizes the potential to learn from other professions with other professions.
