Liz Harrell DNP, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and faculty at Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions. She is the creator of SHOW, an interprofessional community initiative (www.showaz.org). In SHOW, students, providers, and community stakeholders collaboratively engage to provide care to vulnerable populations. SHOW was an Accelerating Interprofessional Community Based Education and Practice Initiative grant recipient (nexusipe.org). SHOW is a learning laboratory sponsoring multiple research projects and as a result of her work, Liz consults with community based care organizations to establish licensed integrated primary care teaching clinics.

Interprofessional (IP) champions of the Student Health Outreach for Wellness (SHOW) designed an experiential-learning course (the second in a three-course series) in collaboration with a local community organization dedicated to serving unsheltered elders. Despite decades of interprofessional practice and education (IPE) “wins'’ regarding the need to prepare the current and future workforce for interprofessional competency attainment and achievement towards the Quintuple Aim (Quadruple Aim plus health equity), IPE initiatives remain one “P” away from failing.
