Dr. Kristina Bridges is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Her research investigates the role of structural and social determinants of health on chronic disease and evaluates both interventions to increase structural competency in the medical field as well as community health worker-based interventions to address health inequity in the community setting.

The University of Kansas Department of Family Medicine has a robust history of interprofessional activities, including our Interprofessional Teaching Clinic (IPTC). Student teams comprised of learners from medicine, pharmacy, psychology, nursing, PT, OT and sometimes law are given autonomy and independence to evaluate patients and then propose their treatment plans before faculty help complete each visit.
