Dr. Mabrey has been instrumental administrator for the last twenty-eight years. She has empowered many students and faculty with knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in various roles within the health care industry. Directing and mentoring students throughout clinical internships in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, cardiac/pulmonary rehab facilities, and fitness centers are daily tasks that provide insight to assist with the inter-professional education.

Simulation is a component of health care education and has provided active learning experiences in a clinical laboratory setting for students for countless years. Utilizing simulators is an evidence-based teaching approach that is widely accepted and incorporated in health care education programs including nursing, advanced practice nursing, respiratory therapy, and athletic training programs.
