Denton is a Family Physician who works in the IPTC. He is also Medical Director of Innovation and Clinical Informatics within The University of Kansas Health System. He champions virtual care, mobile health projects, and driving the digital health strategy forward. He is active in global health organizations that engage learners and helps to promote public health and sustainable primary care. He has BA degrees in Biochemistry, Spanish, and Chemistry at Kansas State University, an MPH from Drexel University, and a DO from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, his residency was at Unity Health Care in Washington D.C.

The University of Kansas Department of Family Medicine has a robust history of interprofessional activities, including our Interprofessional Teaching Clinic (IPTC). Student teams comprised of learners from medicine, pharmacy, psychology, nursing, PT, OT and sometimes law are given autonomy and independence to evaluate patients and then propose their treatment plans before faculty help complete each visit.
