Dr. Spellman earned her doctorate in occupational therapy from Creighton University in 2002. Dr. Spellman has OT clinical practice experience in many areas including inpatient rehabilitation, ambulatory hospital, home health care, and skilled nursing care. She joined Creighton's faculty in 2019. She is a CIPER (Center for Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research), Scholar, to serve as an Interprofessional Education (IPE) champion to advance the mission, vision, and strategic plan at Creighton University. She is the Gerontology Fellowship Coordinator at Creighton and teaches the Older Adults with Occupational Therapy and Physical Rehabilitation III.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
This seminar seeks to examine the effectiveness of Creighton’s IPE Passport activities in preparing today’s practitioners to communicate and collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams following graduation. We will provide strategies and discuss tools utilized to examine IPE learning opportunities and the themes learned. Additionally, we will apply lessons learned to enhance future IPE Passport activities.
