Aly Luna is a National Consumer Scholar with the National Center, an initiative of the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers. Aly's passion lies in bridging the gap between families with special health needs and the professionals who provide their care. She began her education in Occupational Therapy (OT) and transitioned into Healthcare Management with a focus in long-term care. She has worked with families affected by traumatic brain injuries, providing in-home respite and supporting their OT goals and Activities of Daily Living. She has served as Business Director of an assisted living home, and worked for the corporate office of a local healthcare system to provide hands-on support in outpatient office settings. Aly has been fortunate to serve and collaborate with several health and community organizations on the local, state, and national levels; In her role as a National Consumer Scholar, she works with National Center and Camden Coalition staff to develop and inform the field of complex care. They help lead field-building efforts like the complex care core competencies working group, develop and present on webinars and workshops, and more. Aly currently sits on the NC Commission of Children with Special Healthcare Needs as the Governor Appointed Family Representative for children with chronic illness. She values leading and planning capacity-building workshops and conferences that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion as she strives to improve health outcomes for all.
