Willa Xie is a current medical student at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude in 2020 from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Medical Humanities. After experiences volunteering at nonprofit clinics for the uninsured, her passion for serving the community and learning about community medicine was solidified. As she continues her medical education, she would like to further advocate for underserved populations and public health issues.

Climate change is a public health crisis that exacerbates health issues and inequalities. Health professionals have the responsibility to understand climate-related health effects. Though climate change poses one of the biggest threats to health, most health students have not received formalized education on its health effects.
