Dr. Tracy Klein, PhD, ARNP, FAAN, FAANP, is an Associate Professor at Washington State University College of Nursing. Her scholarship encompasses the interface between public policy and prescribing as it relates to practitioner, patient and institutional factors. Her research on controlled substances and pharmacotherapeutics is published in the Journal of Rural Health; Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research; Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics; Substance Abuse Treatment, Prevention and Policy; University of Toronto Medical Journal; and the Journal of Pediatric Healthcare. Her clinical expertise includes teaching and practice as a family nurse practitioner; and state, national, and international policy consultation.

The COVID-19 pandemic dramatically changed the landscape for interprofessional education (IPE) opportunities for health professions students. Like numerous other academic institutions, our team of IPE researchers had to adapt IPE offerings to accommodate an online learning environment. During this workshop, we will share lessons learned on how to manage logistics, create clear instructions, and encourage participation from all learners to institute a streamlined virtual learning experience for students, facilitators, and standardized patients (SPs).
