Dr. Terri Fowler is an Associate Professor and Director of Interprofessional Programs at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing. She maintains clinical practice as a nurse practitioner in a Federally Qualified Health Center with an interprofessional care team focused on chronic disease management. She has led multiple interprofessional practice and education initiatives to improve patient outcomes and enhance student learning. She is also the director of an interprofessional free medical clinic that provides primary care to uninsured patients.

Interprofessional faculty peer mentoring fosters learning together in the nexus to address what matters most to advance and sustain interprofessional practice and education (IPE). Formal and informal programs utilizing faculty or expert patients as mentors exist for interprofessional students, residents, and fellows and intraprofessional pre-/post-doctoral students, early career faculty, and clinical and translational research learners.
