Tazin Daniels, PhD

Dr. Tazin Daniels is an Associate Director at the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching at the University of Michigan. She holds a Ph.D. in Medical Anthropology and specializes in supporting faculty in the health sciences develop their teaching practice. Her major programs include directing the Health Sciences Teaching Academy, the Interprofessional Leadership Faculty Fellows, and the Seminar on Diversity and Inclusive Teaching. She also has published on best practices for developing equity-focused educators in “New Direction in Teaching and Learning” and “To Improve the Academy.”

In the summer of 2020, the University of Michigan’s Health Science Council of Deans (HSC) and Center for Interprofessional Education (C-IPE) were united by a desire to collectively address health inequities in society. The HSC charged the C-IPE to bring together dean-appointed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) leads from 9 of our 10 health science schools, as well as students, patients, and DEI experts to lead the first stage of this effort.
