Dr. Stephen DiDonato an Associate Professor in the Jefferson College of Nursing and a leader in the Jefferson Trauma Education Network (J-TEN). He holds his Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Ph.D. in International Psychology. Dr. DiDonato has extensive experience in training/consulting behavioral health and medical departments to promote workforce health and vibrancy. His clinical expertise is working with children, families, and communities who have been exposed to potentially traumatic events. Dr. DiDonato’s research is focused on trauma-informed pedagogy in higher education. Additionally, he focuses on trauma-informed training models for child welfare systems globally, specifically in Philadelphia and across Peru.

Description: This seminar will highlight the pedagogical development, implementation, and evaluation of an interprofessional substance use disorder (SUD) symposium for nurse practitioner, pharmacy, and physician assistant studies students. The intent of the SUD symposium was to prioritize self-discovery of stigma and its impact on how we care for persons with SUDs.
