During my nursing career, I worked in medical-surgical units, dialysis units, occupational health, perioperative services, and quality management. I began my career in nursing education as a clinical instructor for a community college. In 2018, I joined the team at Jacksonville State University as an instructor with a focus on health assessment. During my time at JSU, I have taught classes in psychiatric mental health, community health, research, disaster management, and informatics in nursing. My research areas of interest include sepsis, mental health treatment and education, substance use treatment, diversity and inclusion, and informatics in nursing.

Objectives: 1) Understand the importance of an inclusive classroom environment and identify activities that promote inclusivity 2) Simulate activities that promote an inclusive classroom environment and reflect on the benefits of those activities. Teaching and learning methods in the classroom and the course should be accessible to all students regardless of race, culture, sexual orientation, or disability.
