Stacey Shipe, PHD, MSC, MSW is an Assistant Professor with the Binghamton University, Department of Social Work and a NIH-funded T32 Fellow with the Penn State Child Maltreatment Solutions Network. She has also served as a member of the Interprofessional Education and Practice (IPE) faculty at the University. Her scholarly interests focus on child welfare organizations, case worker decision making, and influence outcomes for users of child serving systems.

Poverty is a social determinant of health (SDOH) that interprofessional health care teams are trained to address; yet, students in these educational programs may have limited experience with poverty and its impact on patient and community engagement, care, and outcomes.
