Dr. Sara McCumber is Associate Professor and Interim Primary Care Program Director in Graduate Nursing. She has expertise in developing interprofessional learning opportunities, telehealth, and remote patient monitoring simulations. Dr. McCumber is a faculty champion for implementing new technology and learning activities into the learning environment. Her areas of scholarship are on older adult health care, telehealth and active learning strategies. Her clinical practice focuses on older adults and their families with memory disorders.

Background:Virtual reality (VR) simulation is an educational innovation which has been utilized to increase opportunities for interprofessional education (IPE) experiences by addressing time and location limitations found with face to face IPE activities.
