Board-certified in internal medicine, Sadie Velasquez actively engages in UME/GME and maintains an active inpatient clinical service. As co-director of the UT Health San Antonio clinical skills course, she has collaborated with the Schools of Nursing and Dentistry to implement Interprofessional Education (IPE) into the curriculum. Abstracts from both activities were presented at the UT Shine Conference (2020) and accepted at SGEA (2020). Awarded a Linking Interprofessional Network Collaboration (LINC) Seed Grant in 2019 and 2020 and a member of the School of Medicine IPE Task Force and LINC Didactic IPE Initiative, she is an active participant in increasing IPE.

Background: Members of Linking Interprofessional Networks for Collaboration (LINC), UT Health San Antonio’s institutional initiative to advance interprofessional education (IPE), developed the university-wide LINC Common IPE Experience for all incoming learners. Launched in 2020, this foundational IPE activity involves three case-based online modules focused on teamwork and communication competencies completed synchronously in interprofessional groups of 3-4 students.
