Robin Harvan possesses a 40-year proven record of dedicated leadership, service, and accomplishments directly related to Interprofessional Education, Research and Clinical Practice. She has launched an academic department, centralized office, statewide education network, system-wide education and training directorate, and several national centers devoted to advancing interprofessional health professions education and clinical education. Dr. Harvan currently serves as Professor/Director of Health Sciences Programs and Co-Leader of the Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education (CIPE) University-Wide Leadership Team at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She also serves as Harvard/UMass affiliate and Lead Evaluator for the National Center for Integration of Primary Care and Oral Health.

Background: Literature has shown that interprofessional team-based care and standardized patients (SPs) significantly improve students’ retention of knowledge and perceptions compared to other forms of simulation.
