Padmavathy Ramaswamy, PhD, MPH, MSN, APRN, Assistant Professor at the Cizik School of Nursing, UT Health Science Center at Houston has been a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years. At the Cizik School of Nursing, she teaches primarily in the Family nurse practitioner program teaching didactic courses and research courses. She is also a member of the Center for Interprofessional Collaboration at UTHealth and has been involved in interprofessional education in partnership with various UTHealth schools. This includes facilitating conversion and delivery of the face-to-face interprofessional education experience into a virtual format during the pandemic. She has also been a faculty participant and judge in an interprofessional hackathon with student participation from all the UTHealth schools.

Our Lightning Talk will address how health disparities and bias, especially in underserved and marginalized populations, can be addressed in an Interprofessional Simulation through telehealth. The coronavirus pandemic shifted our interprofessional (IP) simulations from in-person to virtual environments.
