Nina Markovic, PhD

Nina Markovic graduated from University of Pittsburgh with PhD in Epidemiology in 1994. She is currently faculty at Pitt Dental Medicine and School of Public Health. At Pitt Dental Medicine, she directs Interprofessional Education, and is a member of the University’s Working Group on Interprofessional Education. She is a co-director for the Public Health Research Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Health. She directs and teaches in interprofessional elective courses across the campus, including “Overview of LGBTQ Health and Wellness”, “Film and Literature for Understanding Patient Provider Interactions”, and the “Geriatric Health”.

Lightning Talk Description:: The past two years have brought a succession of unprecedented changes. From the global pandemic to the world-wide response to racial injustice, interprofessional education (IPE) has been tasked with responding to multiple challenges. From design to debriefing, all aspects of IPE events required adaptation.
