Associate Professor Neil Cottrell is the Director Interprofessional Education in the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences at The University of Queensland (UQ). In this role he is responsible for strategic oversight of the Faculty’s portfolio of interprofessional education activities. In this role he has led the development and implementation of a face-to-face Interprofessional collaborative practice curriculum for students in Allied Health, Dentistry, Exercise Physiology, Midwifery, Nursing, Pharmacy and Social Work, Dentistry. Neil is a pharmacist and is an Associate Professor in the School of Pharmacy at The University of Queensland.

Background: During the COVID pandemic, a large first-year blended interprofessional education (IPE) course, HLTH1000, where students collaborate in small interdisciplinary teams, pivoted to an external, online teaching and learning mode. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of the online IPE course experience on students’ perceptions and attitudes towards interprofessional learning.
