Natalie Weston is a fourth-year graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing both her MD at Dell Medical School and Masters of Biomedical Engineering at the Cockrell School of Engineering. Prior to graduate school, Natalie worked as a Manager on the Innovation Team at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Natalie also earned her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas. Natalie is interested in combining her passions for systems-based solutions and equitable healthcare delivery in her future endeavors as she works towards her ultimate goal of working in a pediatric subspecialty.

The problems facing healthcare today require interdisciplinary approaches. Recognizing this, the Dell Medical School, the Cockrell School of Engineering, and the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease at UT Health Austin launched the Clinical Innovation and Design Program (CID). The CID fellows, a mixture of medical students and graduate level engineers, explore clinical needs and develop a solution as a team over the course of 10 months.
