Dr. Mary Catherine (Katie) Ehlman is the director of the Center for Healthy Aging and Wellness and recipient of the Hershel B. Whitney Endowed Professorship in Gerontology in the College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP) at the University of Southern Indiana (USI). Ehlman has been awarded more than $4.7 million dollars in grants. The most significant is the $3.7 million grant awarded in 2019 from the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) for the USI Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP). Her research in the areas of nursing home quality and student attitudes about aging have been published in numerous publications.

Description: This panel, including a student learner from a Midwestern university, will focus on the implementation of an Interprofessional Geriatric Assessment Clinic (IGAC) and its effects on the interprofessional care team. The IGAC brings together students from a variety of professions, including nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and medical residents, to learn from each other and deliver quality patient care.
