As Project Director for the GWEP at NEOMED, I have a major role in educating over 2,500 student and professional learners through online didactics and simulations. I have been Associate Director of Geriatrics since 2005, developing curricula for faculty and health professions students throughout the NEOMED partnership. I am well entrenched in the model of interprofessional and team-based approaches to care. On an Arthur Vining Davis Foundations grant, I developed and implemented curricula for medical students and health care professionals and community members on issues of family caregiving.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
We will describe a 40-hour Geriatric Resource Course (GRC) for interprofessional learners from healthcare and community provider settings implemented as part of a HRSA-funded Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP). This program is designed to promote interprofessional collaborative practice in geriatrics. It originally combined online didactics, in-person lectures and experiential trainings at sites spanning healthy aging through end of life.
