Margaret Mena is a third-year medical student at Louisiana State University Health New Orleans School of Medicine (LSUHSC-SOM). She attended Fordham University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, graduating with honors. She is proud to be part of the Interprofessional Scholars Program, an opportunity provided by the Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (CIPECP) at LSUHSC. Margaret holds current and past leadership positions on campus and is a part of multiple research projects. Margaret plans to nurture her interest in interprofessional education throughout medical school and her career as a physician.

Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans fosters interprofessional learning through the Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (CIPECP). The CIPECP established a two-year longitudinal curriculum known as “Team UpTM” where students from different health professional programs come together and learn interprofessional skills.
