Lynne Tomasa, PhD, MSW, FAAIDD, is an Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine. She serves as research mentor for students and family medicine residents, creates curriculum for community-based projects, develops questionnaires to assess learner knowledge and attitudes, conducts program evaluation, and teaches topics related to aging, disability, and abuse. She was involved in the initial development of the Interprofessional Education Program within the College of Medicine in 2006. At the Center for Transformative Interprofessional Healthcare (CTIPH), she assists with evaluating program effectiveness, teamwork behaviors, and student learning.

This Lightning Talk describes how in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 14th annual Pandemic Interprofessional Education (IPE) exercise was refocused from an in-person session about an imaginary statewide influenza pandemic; to an online synchronous platform, with students learning from each other and experts about the necessity of interprofessional collaboration.
