Logan Johnson is a third-year dental student at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana. While holding the role of husband and soon-to-be father, he has earned degrees in biological sciences and chemistry from Southeastern Louisiana University. He actively serves as the Pre-Dental Committee Chair for both LSU’s American Student Dental Association (ASDA) Chapter and ASDA District 5, which represents 7 dental schools across the southeastern United States, along with Puerto Rico. His research interests include implantology, cosmetic and reconstructive dental surgery, and orthodontics.

Background:Women living with Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) represent the minority (22%) of the population specific to the injury (National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center, 2013). While most health professions are familiar with the changes in strength and sensation below the site of injury (Anjum et al., 2020), individuals diagnosed with SCI experience a diverse set of chronic conditions, such as depression, urinary tract infections, and osteoporosis (Sezer et al., 2015).
