Kerrin Smith, BS, MS, is the MAHEC Database Administrator, located at A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Kerrin has primary responsibility for managing the statewide MAHEC database, overseeing data collection, and providing regular progress and outcomes reports to both the MAHEC Network and MAHEC funders and partners. Kerrin serves as chair of the MAHEC Data Committee and is a member of the statewide MAHEC Evaluation Committee, as well as the National AHEC Organization’s Committee on Research Outcomes and Evaluation.

o Background: Interprofessional education (IPE) is critical to preparing health professions (IP) students to be effective members of the healthcare workforce. Missouri AHEC (MAHEC) offers AHEC-affiliated HP students several interprofessional (IP) programs, utilizing a combination of didactics, experiential training and clinical exposure in rural and underserved settings. One IP program has the HP students participate in IPE training experience in a clinical training site.
