Kelly was born in Staten Island, NY and remained there until coming to Philadelphia to attend college in 2011. Since receiving her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree at University of the Sciences in 2017, she continues to live and work in Philadelphia. Kelly has worked with a variety of pediatric populations including early intervention, school-based, and pediatric skilled nursing. Kelly is now the Director of Fieldwork Education and an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy at University of the Sciences.

Over the last three years, a dual university virtual interprofessional education (IPE) experience focused on the topic of improving LGBTQ+ healthcare was successfully implemented for counseling, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, and physician assistant students with a high degree of student satisfaction for this learning experience.
