John Fillwalk is an internationally recognized artist and practitioner of virtual reality and interactive environments. He is the Senior Director of the Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts [IDIA Lab] at Ball State University. IDIA Lab is a virtual and augmented reality design studio exploring the intersections of art, science and technology. The lab was founded through a 40-million-dollar grant from Eli Lilly Endowment’s Digital Media Initiative. He has served as president of the Hans Breder Foundation - an international organization to promote the preservation, collection and exhibition of pioneering digital artworks. He has numerous grants, awards, fellowships, publications and presentations.

The Pandemic led to major disruption in the way live educational experiences occur and will continue to occur for interprofessional education (IPE).
