Joel Roberts earned a BS in Biochemistry prior to teaching outdoor education in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He earned his MD from the University of Colorado prior to joining the RVU team. He teaches physiology and IPE, with roles in the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program, Physician Assistant Program, and College of Osteopathic Medicine. Research and academic interests include learning assessment, content integration, simulation, serious games, and integration of gaming mechanics into the classroom. When he is not teaching his wonderful students, he enjoys spending time with his family and reading about philosophy of science and religion.
