JoAnn Tingum is an assistant professor and simulation director for the School of Nursing at the College of St. Scholastica. In this role, she partners with graduate and undergraduate faculty to provide skills and simulation experiences to learners across programs. She has over 7 years of experience with simulation education. Her passion for education and simulation is driven by the joy of providing experiential learning opportunities for learners and improving patient safety.

Background:Virtual reality (VR) simulation is an educational innovation which has been utilized to increase opportunities for interprofessional education (IPE) experiences by addressing time and location limitations found with face to face IPE activities. This presentation addresses education innovation, use of virtual reality, and IPE for collaborative practice and education.
