Gina M. Baugh, PharmD is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and the Director of Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences at West Virginia University (WVU) School of Pharmacy and the Director of Interprofessional Education (IPE) for the WVU Health Sciences Center (HSC). As the Director of IPE, Dr. Baugh oversees the IPE efforts in the didactic, simulation, and clinical practice settings for all health professional students at the HSC. Her work in IPE has become the primary focus of her service and scholarship efforts, and she has been part of numerous funded grants and presentations in this area.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine has become a powerful tool in maintaining patient access to healthcare without the increased risks of an in-person visit. In order to prepare health care learners to this new type of patient encounter, an interprofessional educational opportunity was created using a model of an "IPE Huddle" and participation in a telemedicine based transitions of care clinic with focus on improved post-hospitalization outcomes.
