Geoffrey Hayden MD is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. He directs the Scholarly Inquiry Health Design Track for third and fourth year medical students at The Sidney Kimmel Medical College. Dr. Hayden is a faculty member in the Health Design Lab at Thomas Jefferson University, where he conducts design sprints with colleagues in professions across the university and health system to innovate their current practice.

Interprofessional education (IPE) purports to level hierarchy and create a collaboration between IPE program stakeholders, patients, and communities. Design sprints do level the hierarchy and should be used to design IPE.
