As Curriculum Manager, UBC Health, Deanna oversees the design, implementation, evaluation and renewal of collaborative health education initiatives across the University of British Columbia’s 14 health professional programs, engaging multiple campus locations and students located throughout the province. Deanna’s background includes curricular work in post-secondary and adult education and clinical experience in orthopedic rehabilitation.

In 2021, an accessible approach to enhancing patient/family involvement in interprofessional education was piloted at the University of British Columbia. Using an existing capstone interprofessional activity, patient perspectives were incorporated into a workshop on collaborative decision-making to prepare students to work in our province’s emerging team-based primary care networks.
