Dr. Christi Barbee, AuD, CCC-A, F-AAA, is an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and has been involved in interprofessional activities since 2013, and has been providing and coordinating faculty training for campus IPE experiences. She has served as chair of the executive council for the Interprofessional Educators and Practitioners Association (IEPA), and chair and co-chair of the faculty development sub-committee of the IEPA. She has been a leader in interprofessional faculty development at OUHSC.

Learner outcomes in interprofessional education are considered to be tied to the expertise and proficiency of the faculty or clinician educator. However, many educators in the traditional health sciences academy are not trained in the methods of evidence-based best practices for interprofessional education.
