Caroline Passerrello, MS, RDN, LDN, EdD candidate is a registered dietitian nutritionist, faculty member in the Dietitian Nutritionist Program at the University of Pittsburgh, co-author of Human Nutrition: Science for Healthy Living, 3rd ed, and a national spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Passerrello's teaching focuses on the principles of education, community engaged scholarship, public health nutrition, and personal and professional development skills for registered dietitian nutritionists. Passerrello collaborates with other healthcare programs to coordinate health and wellness programming delivered by Pitt Nutrition for the SHRS Wellness Pavilion within the Community Engagement Center and for many partner organizations in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area.

Through establishing the Wellness Pavilion (WP), the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) has made a long-term commitment to partner with two historically underserved communities at Community Engagement Centers. The WP aims to make health and wellness services more accessible in Homewood and the surrounding communities through providing interactive educational sessions, services and special events and programming.
