Bette Mariani, PhD, RN, ANEF, FAAN is Vice Dean and Professor at Villanova University Fitzpatrick College of Nursing. She was President of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) and was recognized by the American Academy of Nursing and National League for Nursing as a Fellow for her contributions in advancing the science of nursing education. She is a leader in simulation, debriefing, and instrument development. She has disseminated her work through publications and national and international presentations; presented globally on simulation best practices; and served as a consultant to promote international collaboration on simulation. Her BSN is from Villanova University, MSN from University of Pennsylvania, and PhD from Widener University.

Over the last three years, a dual university virtual interprofessional education (IPE) experience focused on the topic of improving LGBTQ+ healthcare was successfully implemented for counseling, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, and physician assistant students with a high degree of student satisfaction for this learning experience.
