Dr. April D. Newton is Director of Interprofessional Practice Development at the Indiana University Interprofessional Practice and Education Center. She is an assistant professor of clinical family medicine in the IU School of Medicine and an adjunct assistant professor in the department of physical therapy. In addition, Dr. Newton’s roles include developing and integrating interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP) curricula; promoting and developing innovative interprofessional clinical training models; and collaborating with clinical faculty, healthcare providers, and staff at healthcare facilities with team-based care. In addition, she leads the Comprehensive Pain Assessment Clinic and Transition of Care Clinic.
