Dr. Merewood serves as the Director of the Center for Health Equity, Education, and Research (CHEER) and the director of the CHAMPS (Communities and Hospitals Advancing Maternity Practices) program, as well as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Boston University School of Medicine, and Associate Professor of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health. She has worked as a consultant for the WHO, UNICEF, the Indian Health Service, and many American Indian tribes. She is the former Editor in Chief of the Journal of Human Lactation.
