Allison Williams is an Assistant Professor and the Vice Chair and Associate Program Director for the Graduate PA Program at the University of the Sciences. Allison’s clinical background includes Emergency Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Allison has experience with implementing didactic IPE curricula, as well as experience in planning and facilitating IPE events. This includes representing the PA department on several IPE teams at the University of the Sciences and Temple University. She has facilitated IPE events for several professions covering topics of team communication, pandemic preparedness medicine, patient safety, team roles and responsibilities, LGBTQ+ healthcare, and substance use disorder.

Over the last three years, a dual university virtual interprofessional education (IPE) experience focused on the topic of improving LGBTQ+ healthcare was successfully implemented for counseling, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, and physician assistant students with a high degree of student satisfaction for this learning experience. The purpose of this Lightning Talk, however, is to discuss an aspect of IPE implementation that is often overlooked - facilitator and standardized actor training.
