Dr. Forstater is board certified in emergency medicine and internal medicine, having practiced emergency medicine for over 40 years. He is clinical associate professor in Emergency Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University where he practices emergency medicine and teaches communication skills and team training for over 10 years to students and staff at the University. He is a Master Trainer in TeamSTEPPS® and has received awards for his patient care and his teaching, including the James B. Erdmann PhD, Award for Excellence in Interprofessional Education at Jefferson and the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence.

Background: Faculty development is a priority for our teamwork simulation programs. Student final evaluations of our programs previously included assessment of student knowledge and attitudinal change but not feedback about facilitator quality. We rapidly expanded our program from 148 students in March 2021 to 738 students in March 2022 with a concomitant increase in facilitators, many of whom were new.
