Abigail is an autistic self-advocate and public health professional. They graduated with an MPH degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in May 2021. Abigail works in OUHSC’s Department of Family and Preventive Medicine providing evaluation support for Focus Forward Oklahoma and Heartland Regional Genetics Network. Abigail is a graduate of the OKLEND program and is the data coordinator for OKLEND and CLL-UCEDD. Lastly, Abigail works within OUHSC’s section on Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics creating sexual health education resources for autistic self-advocates and caregivers.

Presenting at the Nexus Summit:

In this seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a unique interactive model of a community-engaged simulation training, co-presented by Self-Advocate and Family Advocate Educators. Following the simulation, attendees will participate in interactive discussion and reflection on expanding patient-family-community engagement in preservice/continuing education work on developmental disabilities.
